Deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news that dear #Victor_Mason has passed away.
Victor Mason was a respected radio presenter and producer with a long association with broadcasting in Manchester.
He was widely known for his work with BBC Radio Manchester, and earlier Greater Manchester Radio, where he co-presented an African-Caribbean programme on Saturday evenings alongside Karen Gabay. His career in local media spanned several decades.
A pioneer in diverse broadcasting, he was recognised as someone who helped shape the history of community and local radio.
As recently as late 2025 he remained active within the Manchester radio scene, appearing on ALL FM 96.9 as a guest or presenter, where he spoke about broadcasting history and the influence of local legends such as Mike Shaft.
Beyond radio, he also contributed to the community through local business ventures, including serving as a director for a Manchester-based company.
Sending deepest heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the wider community. 🙏🕊️
